Psychiatric Evaluation in Utah
Understanding what is happening with your mental health is the first step toward meaningful treatment. At Dynamic Psychiatry & Wellness, psychiatric evaluations are designed to provide clarity, education, and a structured path forward.

Our evaluations focus not only on diagnosing symptoms but also on understanding the underlying factors that may be contributing to emotional distress, cognitive challenges, or behavioral patterns.
We see patients ages 12 and older at our Lehi and South Jordan locations.

A More Thoughtful Evaluation Process
Many traditional psychiatric visits spend most of the appointment gathering historical information. While that history is important, it can leave very little time for deeper understanding or treatment planning.

At Dynamic Psychiatry & Wellness, we use a different process.
Before the appointment, patients complete detailed intake forms that capture important background information about symptoms, medical history, past treatments, and life experiences. This preparation allows the appointment to focus on understanding the underlying issues, answering questions, and developing a clear treatment strategy rather than spending the majority of the visit collecting background information.
During the appointment, your provider will review your history, clarify key details, and then spend significant time helping you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and what treatment options are available.
This approach allows more time for meaningful discussion, education, and collaborative treatment planning.

When a Psychiatric Evaluation May Be Helpful
A psychiatric evaluation can be helpful if you are experiencing:
• Persistent depression or low mood
• Anxiety, panic attacks, or chronic stress
• Difficulty concentrating or possible ADHD
• Mood swings or emotional instability
• Trauma-related symptoms
• Sleep problems or unexplained fatigue
• Behavioral patterns that are interfering with work, school, or relationships
Many patients seek an evaluation simply because they know something is not working in their life and want a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to it.
What Happens During a Psychiatric Evaluation
Initial psychiatric evaluations are typically 60 minutes and include:
• Review of medical, psychological, and treatment history
• Discussion of current symptoms and life stressors
• Clarification of patterns affecting mood, thinking, behavior, and relationships
• Exploration of biological, psychological, and environmental contributors
• Education about possible diagnoses
• Development of a personalized treatment plan
Our goal is not simply to label symptoms, but to help patients understand what is happening and how treatment can move them forward.

Treatment Planning After the Evaluation
Following the evaluation, your provider will discuss treatment options that may include:
• Psychiatric medication management
• Individual therapy
• Couples or family therapy
• Advanced treatments such as TMS or ketamine-assisted therapy
• Lifestyle and wellness interventions when appropriate

Treatment recommendations are tailored to the individual patient and their specific goals.
